The Central Coast Mariners can confirm that the club has today lodged an appeal following the decision of the Independent Match review Panel (MRP) to impose a three-game suspension on Marco Ureña.

The Mariners will appeal the severity of the sanction based on similar challenges and the corresponding sanctions imposed in the past.

Ureña’s upstanding character and praiseworthy disciplinary record will also be referenced across a career spanning more than 300 matches at senior club and international level.

The Mariners respect the disciplinary process and will make no further comment until the process is complete.
