The Central Coast Mariners can confirm the departure of Chinese International Wurigumula, who leaves to return to her parent club Changchun Dazhong WFC at the end of her loan deal.
One of our major signings at the beginning of our return campaign to the Liberty A-League, Wurigumula became an immediate fan favourite, sealing our first win of the campaign against Adelaide United with her first goal in Yellow and Navy.
From then, the Chinese International was a consistent presence for us up front, scoring eight goals in the 2023/24 season, including a Goal of the Year contender away to Canberra United. This was enough to see her be awarded with the Golden Boot at the Mariners Medal Dinner, while she also collected the Maccas’ Fan’s Player of the Year.
The 28-year-old scored her penalty in our historic penalty shootout elimination final win in Melbourne, ultimately playing 25 times for the Mariners. She returns back to the Chinese Women’s Super League with Changchun Dazhong WFC, now that her loan deal has concluded.
