The Central Coast Mariners have mutually agreed to part ways with 23-year-old attacker Nick Fitzgerald who made his Hyundai A-League debut with the Yellow & Navy in 2010. The Mariners’ wish ‘Fitzy’ all the best in his future endeavours.

Fitzgerald started his senior career with the Yellow & Navy before taking a short stint with the Brisbane Roar, tallying a total of 93 Hyundai A-League appearances during his time with both clubs.

The NSW born attacker is a Championship winner with the Central Coast Mariners and ranks the title as one of his fondest memories with the Club.

“I have really enjoyed my time playing at the Mariners and experienced some great memories that includes winning the Championship in 2013,” Fitzgerald said.

“I would like to thank the Mariners for the opportunity they have given me and most of all the amazing fans who have supported the club and myself from day one.

“I also want to wish the boys all the best for the rest of the season,” Fitzgerald said.

Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Tony Walmsley who has worked with Fitzgerald since his arrival in 2010, wished him all the best and had nothing but praise for his contribution to the Club.

“I have fond memories of working with Nick over a number of years and we are disappointed Fitzy won’t be extending his time with the Mariners,” Walmsley said.

“He has chosen to end his time here and after much consideration we feel it’s in everyone’s best interest to part company.

“Fitzy is a great lad and whoever signs him is getting a hard working, versatile player,” Walmsley said.

Fitzgerald has departed the club with immediate effect.
