CENTRAL Coast Mariners had five Academy teams in action last weekend in Football New South Wales- Finals Series.
The first win of the weekend went to Glenn Hall-s Grade 14 Boys who triumphed 3-1 over Macarthur Rams at Garside Park in Granville. The win sees the Academy 14 Boys progress to the Preliminary Final next Saturday against Granville Rage.
The Grade 16 Academy Girls team were also in action on Saturday and travelled to Homebush to play the Sutherland Sharks. The Academy girls also had a convincing win which will see them play Manly next Sunday in the Preliminary Final.
Unfortunately the Grade 13 Boys were unable to come back from a 2-0 lead held by Dulwich Hill FC. The team finished their season with their final goal of the year to Ethan Dennis and a final scoreline for the day of 2-1.
Winners of Sunday-s games gained direct entry to the Boys Super Youth League Grand Finals to be held on Saturday 15 September.
The Grade 16 Boys showed why they were named 2012 Minor Premiers with a solid 3-0 win over Spirit FC. The win sees them progress straight through to the Grand Final where they will play either Sydney University or Spirit FC.
The Grade 15 Boys played Sydney University but were unable to secure a win with the final score 3-1 to Sydney University. The Grade 15 Boys will now progress through to the Preliminary Final against Western NSW Mariners next Saturday.
