Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce another player has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the Isuzu UTE A-League 2026/27 season, with 21-year-old striker Oliver Lavale committing his future to the Mariners.
Lavale arrived at the club midway through the 2025/26 season and impressed with his work rate and determination, leading the line on 14 occasions for the Mariners.
His standout performance came away to Auckland FC in just his second appearance for the club, where he netted a brace – including a dramatic late equaliser – as the Mariners stunned the eventual Champions with a memorable 2-2 draw.
After signing his new deal, Lavale said he was excited to continue his journey on the Central Coast.
“Last season I got a good taste of what the Mariners are all about. I’m really excited to continue playing for this amazing club and our fans.” Lavale said.
“The Mariners gave me an opportunity to play at this level again when nobody else did, and I’m determined to repay that trust by giving everything I can for the team this season.
Sporting Director Matt Simon said retaining Lavale was another important piece of the club’s plans for the season ahead.
“Oli is a hard worker, has an excellent attitude and embraces the standards we expect every day.” Simon said.
“He’s shown steady improvement since arriving at the club and, at just 21 years of age, we believe there’s still so much potential for him to unlock.
“As we continue shaping our squad for the 2026/27 season, it’s important we retain young players who are committed to improving and buying into our culture. Oli is certainly one of those players and we’re looking forward to seeing him continue his progression in a Mariners shirt.”
