Leading into his 100th Hyundai A-League appearance, Jack Clisby reflected on a career milestone whilst paying credit to the culture created on the Central Coast. Kick-off on Sunday is 5pm against Adelaide United.
After stints with Perth Glory, Melbourne City, Western Sydney Wanderers and now the Mariners, at just 26 years-of-age, 100 games in the top flight is some achievement.
The Perth-born defender reflected on the prouder moments of his career as well as talking about the tight bond formed between his teammates in Yellow & Navy.
Coastal Sea Changeā¦
āMy move to the Central Coast has been fantastic,ā Clisby said. āThe club, the culture, itās the best culture Iāve felt within a playing group. Everyoneās on the same level, weāre all a team and weāre all united which is what I really like about this club.
āThe togetherness and culture that Mike Mulvey and Monty have instilled, everyone respects their decisions whether youāre playing or not playing. Everyone is fighting to get in the team, thereās no bitterness and thatās what you need in a squad.
āI feel this is the strongest side the Mariners have had in quite some time,ā Clisby said. āThe camaraderie throughout the group is fantastic ā weāre a very together group and I think we will show people what we can do this year,ā Clisby said.
Closing in on game ?, Jack Clisby reflects on his proud milestone and praises the "best culture he's felt within a playing group." Congrats, Clis! ??

Reflecting on his 99 Hyundai A-League appearancesā¦
āFor me personally itās a very proud moment that Iām really looking forward to,ā Clisby said. āIām also looking very much forward to the game, Adelaide won the FFA Cup and will be on a high but after our last two performances, we head into this game full of confidence.
āAfter my 90th odd game ā I finally scored my first goal. When I was younger I was a prolific goal scorer at about 15 years old,ā Clisby laughed. āBut there are many moments that stand out ā especially my professional debut for Perth Glory. From that moment forward itās been very quick but now Iām at 100 games, Iām very proud and Iām sure that my family and friends are too,ā Clisby said.
Mariners Pink Roundā¦
āWe will be wearing the pink kits on the weekend which is fantastic and a very special occasion,ā Clisby said. āWeāre all really proud as a club to be raising funds and awareness for womenās cancer research.
Mariners set piece dutiesā¦
āThereās a few of us in the team who can step up and take them,ā Clisby said. āRoss hits a fantastic free-kick, as well as Mikey McGlinchey and Tommy Oar. We like to have options, we all practice and whoeverās feeling confident on the day and in that time, will step up.
āIāve been practicing a lot more since coming to the club because I wanted to add more to my game. Set pieces, corners, free kicks, I want to keep practicing and apply that in a game situation,ā Clisby said.
Are you brave enough to wear pink this Sunday? ?
For the seventh season running, we're trading Yellow & Navy for pink, in support of @CCNewSouthWales!

Two games, two drawsā¦
āI think a draw was fair in Brisbane because they had many chances but the determination and way weāve defended the last two games, weāre disappointed to concede a late equaliser,ā Clisby said. āAgainst Melbourne City we compressed them so well and they didnāt have too many clear-cut chances ā a scrappy goal like that goes in, itās deflating but we take plenty of positives from that game.
āCity have loads of quality players in their side and the way we handled it, we can be proud of that and build from that,ā Clisby said.
