Pink Round back for a 10th year

The Central Coast Mariners are pleased to announce that their annual Pink Round will return once again for its 10th season. For this round, the club will partner with Eastcoast Juice to help raise much needed funds for the Cancer Council Central Coast.

With the final round of fixtures locked in for the remainder of the Isuzu UTE A-League season, the Mariners can confirm that Pink Round will fall on the 9th of April against Sydney FC at Central Coast Stadium.

This match between the two NSW sides will be the perfect opportunity to raise awareness and funds around the subject of cancer.

Throughout the match, the Central Coast Mariners have organised a number of activities which will allow a variety of fundraising methods for Cancer Council Central Coast.

First up, general donations will be encouraged in the lead up to the event, through online donations which can be done here.

As per last year’s Pink Round, this year, every match worn jersey will be auctioned off online with patrons able to purchase their piece of memorabilia from the special round.

Before kick-off on Saturday, the CEOs of Central Coast businesses will be able to fundraise their opportunity at taking a penalty against a Mariners keeper. The money that is raised from this, will go toward Cancer Council.

Central Allstars Cheerleaders will also add to the occasion with a performance before the match begins, adding more colour to the already fantastic day.

In partnership with the Mariners, Eastcoast Juice have come on board as Match-Day sponsor and Managing Director Sam Lentini spoke about the pride that this event can give to a local Central Coast business.

“As a local Coastie business, we feel it’s our duty to support the community who continually support us. Partnering with the Mariners for their Pink Round is another opportunity to do just that.

“Cancer has impacted the lives of so many – whether directly or indirectly, and we’re honoured to be a part of such a wonderful initiative that unites our community and works toward a common goal in raising money for Cancer Council Central Coast,” Lentini said.

Mariners CEO Shaun Mielekamp was excited at bringing back Pink Round once again.

“Pink Round was an initiative that the club started over ten years ago and to see it grow into what it is today brings everyone at the club great pride, and at last count we have raised over $130k for the Cancer Council. Everyone in the A-League knows that we are the pioneers of such an initiative, and it is great to see other clubs starting to follow suit.

“Each year we are proud to raise much needed funds and awareness for Cancer Council Central Coast and this year to partner with Eastcoast Juice in doing so will only boost our efforts,” Mielekamp said.

“I encourage all of you to come out in Pink on Saturday the 9th against Sydney FC and make this a Pink Round to remember.”

Tickets for the Pink Round are now on sale and can be purchased here.

A limited number of 2021/22 Pink Round jerseys are also for sale and can be purchased here.
