The Central Coast Mariners’ bid for maximum AFC Champions League points in the Korea Republic will be fine tuned at Lisarow’s Pluim Park this evening (Tuesday, 28 April), where the yellow and navy will take on local NSW Super League counterparts the Central Coast Lightning.

The Lightning, who play in the state-s second tier competition, have recorded two wins, two draws and two losses to open their 2009 campaign and will host a Mariners side determined to return to the winners circle ahead of their make-or-break AFC Champions League test in Pohang next week.
The Mariners and the Lightning are no strangers, with the two sides having met in non-competitive fixtures on three occasions since the Mariners- inception, with the most recent fixture between the two sides ending in a 0-0 draw, following on from back to back 2-0 triumphs for the Mariners.
Kick off this evening is at 7pm, with gates opening at 5pm. Persons under the age of 16 will be admitted free of charge, while admission for all other spectators is $5. Parking is available within the Pluim Park precinct for $5.
The Mariners- inaugural AFC Champions League campaign will continue at Korea-s Steelyard on Tuesday, 5 May, when the yellow and navy will face K-League heavyweights Pohang Steelers. Kick off is at 2pm AEST.
The Mariners will return to their Central Coast Stadium home for Match Day 6 of the AFC Champions League to face the challenge of Chinese Super League heavyweights Tianjin Teda on Tuesday, 19 May. Kick off is at 8pm.
