It must have been great to return to winning ways last weekend, it was a well-earned 2-1 victory over the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). What did you make of the match?
It was a good win for the boys. It-s always tough coming off a heavy defeat but we bounced back well from that loss to Melbourne and we found a bit of form.

What were the AIS like? Were they a tough opposition?
They were quite tough. You expect them to be skilful being the AIS and there are a lot of good players in their side, it was a good game.

Last weekend-s game was held in Mudgee. It must have been good to get out there?
It was interesting going to Mudgee. It-s a good place to go to and the supporters are good to the Mariners, so it was great to have a game out there.

You had training last night. What was the focus? Obviously fine-tuning things ahead of tomorrow-s match?
Well, we worked on our team shape last night and came up with a game plan to beat Adelaide tomorrow.

What is the feeling like amongst the squad? Is everyone confident and ready to go?
There is a good buzz around the boys and everyone is confident that we can get the three points.

The last time the sides met was back in Round 4. What are you expecting from them this time around?
It was a tough game against them back in Round 4. We are expecting another tough contest tomorrow but we-re at home so we are confident that we can get the win.

There are only five matches left in this campaign, how do you assess this season so far?
I think the team has performed well; it-s been a consistent season for us. We haven-t had too many losses and we-re sitting at the top of the table, so from a team perspective it-s been a very good season so far. Personally, I have been happy with my performances as well.

On an individual note, what do you get up to away from football?
In my free time, I love going for a surf and hanging out with my mates.

Finally, where would you like to see yourself in five years time?
To be overseas in five years time would be a dream come true but playing for my hometown, the Mariners would be a great achievement.

Central Coast Mariners Youth face fourth-placed Adelaide United Youth on Saturday 26 January at Centre of Excellence, Tuggerah. Kick-off is 10:30am.
