Dutch Midfielder Tom Hiariej touched down at 6:00am this morning at Sydney Airport and was welcomed with open arms by Mariners Members. Despite the long journey, the 28 year old was positive about his latest career move.
βAt this moment I feel really excited. We didnβt sleep for 30 hours so also a little bit tired, but feeling welcomed and feeling really good.β
βWe want to achieve finals, thatβs our main goal β but I want to experience the culture of Australia and meet nice peopleβ.
Cameron PatersonΒ was one of the young fans who travelled down in the early hours of the morning to welcome Tom.
βIt was really awesome to meet Tom at the airport this morning β he signed my flag and I got a photo with him. He was so nice, and I hope he likes the Central Coast. It was a great experience!βΒ

Hiariej will be undertaking a medical later this week, before settling into life on the Central Coast.
βIt was a really nice arrival. I saw some fans and did some signatures β and of course with this scarf I feel really good β Iβm part of the family and Iβm proud of itβ
