The Central Coast Mariners are proud to welcome The Glen to the Mariners family, bringing together two organisations that believe people should have a community standing beside them through the highs and lows.
For more than 30 years, The Glen has supported people across the Central Coast through its programs, celebrating their journeys long after they leave.
The partnership will use the reach of football to raise awareness of The Glen’s work, break down stigma around asking for help and remind people that connection and support can make a real difference.
That belief is familiar at the Mariners, where “Once a Mariner, always a Mariner” means the connection lasts long after someone’s time at the Club.
The Glen Executive Director Joe Coyte has long considered himself a committed rugby league fan but says the Mariners’ connection to their community gradually turned him into a football fan too.
“We have a long history with the Mariners. The thing that has always stood out to me was the genuine connection they have with their community,” Joe said.
“When someone has been part of The Glen, we continue to celebrate their successes. We also know life isn’t a straight line. There are ups and downs, just like football. Effort doesn’t always guarantee the outcome you want, but what matters is knowing your people will still be there and that you feel part of something bigger than you.”
The partnership will bring The Glen’s culture and community to Mariners matchdays. The Glen for Men’s cultural dance group will perform as part of the opening of A-League Men’s match at polytec Stadium against Perth Glory on Saturday 21 November while the women’s cultural dance group will perform at an A-League Women’s fixture in December.

The performances will give Mariners fans an opportunity to experience and celebrate the culture and connection at the heart of The Glen.
Mariners Sporting Director Matt Simon said The Glen was a natural partner for the Club.
“The Glen has spent over 30 years supporting people in our community, and there is enormous respect for the work they do,” Simon said.
“We say ‘Once a Mariner, always a Mariner’, and The Glen lives that same philosophy.
“This partnership gives us an opportunity to use football to connect people with an organisation that has been changing lives on the Central Coast for over three decades.
“Football and life both bring wins and losses. What matters is who is beside you when things get tough. That’s what community is about, and we’re incredibly proud to welcome The Glen to the Mariners family.”
More than 30 years of The Glen. More than two decades of the Mariners. A community, and a belief that your people will always be there

THE GLEN PHILOSOPHY
YOUR PEOPLE DON’T DISAPPEAR WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH
At the heart of The Glen is a simple belief: belonging matters.
Recovery and life are rarely straight lines. There are wins, setbacks, difficult days and moments worth celebrating. The Glen believes people should know they remain part of a community through all of them.
Success is celebrated, challenges are faced together and relationships built through The Glen can continue long after someone finishes a program.
It’s why the partnership with the Mariners feels so natural.
Once a Mariner, always a Mariner. Once part of The Glen community, you remain part of something bigger than yourself.
