Central Coast Mariners have bolstered their goalkeeping stocks ahead of the 2026-27 Ninja A-League Women season with the signing of Morgan Aquino, following her departure from USL Super League side DC Power FC.
The Perth-born shot-stopper began her professional career at hometown club Perth Glory, making her A-League Women debut in January 2020 after coming through pathways in the Football West system. Aquino went on to have spells with both the Glory and Brisbane Roar before delivering a breakout 2023-24 campaign back at Perth, playing every match of the season and setting a league record of 126 saves at an 81.1% save percentage – the best of any goalkeeper in the competition. The performance earned her both an A-League Women Golden Glove and selection in the PFA and A-League Women’s Team of the Season.
Aquino made the move overseas in July 2024, joining DC Power FC as part of the club’s inaugural roster for the USL Super League’s first-ever season. She quickly established herself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper, starting the majority of Power FC’s matches across two seasons in Washington, D.C.
The 25-year-old has also continued to develop on the international stage, earning her first senior Matildas call-up in November 2024 ahead of Australia’s two-match series against Chinese Taipei. Aquino was subsequently named in the Matildas’ squad for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026, called up as cover following a knee injury to Jada Whyman.

Aquino has linked up with the Mariners squad in week one of pre-season training as the countdown to Matchweek 1’s away trip to Brisbane to face the Roar at Spencer Park on Saturday 17 October fast approaches.
