Players and Staff from Central Coast Mariners supported Coast and Country Primary Care’s recent Health on the Streets Christmas Appeal.
CEO Alyssar Narey, Sporting Director Matt Simon, A-League Men Head Coach Mark Jackson, A-League Women Head Coach Emily Husband, plus A-League Women’s Players Sarah Langman and Brianne Riley were all in attendance from the Mariners.
The Health on the Street initiative provides support from physical and mental healthcare, from vaccinations and screening to dental and spectacle referrals, plus much more. All services delivered via a mobile van staffed by healthcare professionals and outreach workers, across the Central Coast.
The Mariners made a large donation of clothing and were educated on some of the causes and effects of homelessness, as well as the impact of the CCPC Health on the Street initiative.
Alyssar Narey said:
“The Mariners are proud to work closely with Coast and Country Primary Care, continuously supporting our region.
“Spending time with the Health on the Streets crew was an enlightening experience, where we saw first hand the tireless work they do in delivering medical and mental healthcare to the most vulnerable individuals across the Coast.”
Coast and Country Primary Care CEO, Kathy Beverley, said:
“The Mariners play a crucial role in supporting the community, particularly in their efforts to support the Health on the Streets Team who provide an assertive outreach nurse-led service to those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
“Together the club and the Health on the Streets Team help to give people experiencing homelessness a sense of dignity and hope, whilst raising awareness and fostering a compassionate and inclusive environment.
“The positive impact this makes resonates throughout the entire community.”
