The Central Coast Mariners are delighted to announce the contract extension of midfielder Harry Steele, with the 21-year-old putting pen to paper on a new three-year deal to keep him on the Coast until at least 2027.
A born-and-bred Central Coast local who has progressed all the way through our academy system, the youngster has already made 63 Isuzu UTE A-League appearances in his first three seasons of professional football.
Initially making his debut in Round 1 of the 2021/22 Isuzu UTE A-League season against Newcastle at only 19-years-old, the midfielder went on to play 23 matches in his first campaign, including starting our Elimination final against Adelaide United.
Since then, Steele has played an important role in our success, becoming a back-to-back Isuzu UTE A-League Champion as well as a treble winner.
He featured for almost an hour in our historic home Grand Final victory over Melbourne just a few months ago, while also coming off the bench in the AFC Cup Final.
From watching us win our first ever Grand Final from the stands as a young fan in 2013, to now being a treble winner, Steele is excited to have his future secured on the Central Coast for the next three seasons.
āI love this club and community; it is my home. Iām looking forward to helping continue to build on what we have already done, I have been here for a long time and have loved every minute of it,ā Steele said.
āThis club means a lot to the people of the Central Coast, and I am thrilled to be extending my time with the Mariners.ā
Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Mark Jackson is pleased to have signed Steele to the club on a long-term deal.
āWe are delighted to secure Steeley with us on a new long-term deal. He is a player with huge potential and brings a lot to the team both on and off the pitch,ā Jackson said.
āTo see local players come through and make their mark on the first team is fantastic and weāre looking forward to working with Steeley next season and beyond.ā
