Mixed results in Mariners first week of E-League action

The first two match-day’s of the 2023 E-League competition are officially complete, with both Brady Carr and Lachlan Neal playing four matches of FIFA to each kick start their tournaments. 

Neal made his E-League debut on Tuesdaynight , facing off against MVCBilzagumus in his first match. An unfortunate 3-0 loss against the run of play left him with work to do in the second leg, with the youngster showing that he was certainly up for the task soon after. 

Neal pulling the score back to 3-2 overall before half time of the second game, before a tough second 45 minutes seeing the score unjustly balloon out to 8-2. 

His second match against WELAIRBRN another tough test for the debutant, going down 5-1 in the first match. The second far closer to begin with, bringing the score back to 5-2 overall as it felt like momentum was swinging back in his favour. 

A couple of quick goals secured the tie for his opponent, with the final score ending 7-2. While not picking up any points yet the youngster is better for the experience, looking to put on a show next week. 

Neal is scheduled to take on last year’s winner SYDDylanCampbell and NEWNoahja as he looks to secure his first points of the competition. 

Brady Carr got his tournament off to a winning start against ADL Jaz, securing an impressive 3-0 win into the second leg. A last-minute goal scored with our very own Dylan Wenzel-Halls enough to give him the three-goal cushion with another match still to play. 

A 2-1 loss was not enough to overturn the tie, securing his first three points of the campaign. 

Coming up against MCYNaylor in the second set of matches for the night Brady played extremely well in the first leg, with a late goal securing him a 1-1 draw. 

The second leg ultimately a 3-0 defeat to bring the overall score to 4-1, a valiant effort from Carr against an extremely tough opponent. 

The result puts the youngster in sixth place on the Group B ladder, picking up an important three points heading into next week’s matches. 

Carr is scheduled to take on NEWMattbro27 and WSWNegede next Wednesday as he looks to continue his success so far. 

Both Neal and Carr will be back next Tuesday and Wednesday night respectively for another week of E-League action, which can be watched live HERE!
