Luis Garcia (Spain), Fabio Ferreira (Portugal) & Brad McDonald (Papua New Guinea) visited Avoca Beach Primary school to discuss the importance of Harmony Day.
Harmony Round will showcase our cultural diversity in particular how multiculturalism can enrich football in Australia with Hyundai A-League clubs conducting School Visits whilst home grounds will be transformed into a celebration of diversity among players, spectators, supporters and partners.
FFA CEO David Gallop said sport plays an important role in building inclusive communities.
āHarmony Day celebrates multicultural Australia and coincides with the United Nations International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination,ā Gallop said.Ā
āItās a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.
āAlmost half of all Australians were born overseas or have a parent who was.
āThatās why Football Federation Australia has partnered with Harmony Day to help spread the Harmony Day message: āeveryone belongsā among players, fans, supporters and partners.
āOur diversity makes our teams stronger and makes Australia a great place to live,ā concluded Gallop
