Storm Roux takes major step towards Confederations Cup with New Zealand

Central Coast Mariners defender, Storm Roux has been selected in the New Zealand National Team for a pre-tour in the build up to June’s Confederations Cup.

The 24-year-old, who has played seven internationals for New Zealand, has not been in an All Whites squad since 2015 but has earned his place in the build-up to the FIFA Confederations Cup.

Roux’s call up is a just reward for an impressive season in Yellow & Navy where he captained Paul Okon’s side on a number of occasions in the absence of Nick Montgomery.

The impressive right-back is one of nine Hyundai A-League players to be selected in Anthony Hudson’s All Whites.

The All Whites, who staged a training camp this week in Auckland, will face Northern Ireland, Dublin club side Carbinteely FC and Belarus in the lead-up to the ‘Tournament of Champions’ from 2 – 12  June.
