The Central Coast Mariners can today confirm that Alen Stajcic has begun to finalise his football staff ahead of the Hyundai A-League 2019/20 season.

Continuing with the football department is Nahuel Arrarte as Assistant Coach, who has signed on for the next three seasons under Head Coach Stajcic.

Stajcic spoke highly of Arrarte, and the knowledge he brings to the football department.

“Naz [Nahuel] brings with him a good wealth of experience, and he’s keen, dedicated and really wants to see this club succeed,” Stajcic said. “He has spent the last few years as Technical Director at Marconi, Head Coach at the South Coast Wolves [now known as Wollongong Wolves] and he’s been a leading coach at Westfield Sports High School where a lot of our Socceroos and Matildas have been developed,” Stajcic said.

In a restructure of the Mariners Academy, Nick Montgomery will fulfil the position of Head of Performance Phase which sees him leading the U18’s, U20’s and First Grade Men’s Academy sides for the remainder of the season.

Montgomery is looking forward to the challenge ahead, and the opportunities it brings for young players.

“I spoke with Staj and we felt like it was a good opportunity if I wanted it,” Montgomery said. “To step into the Academy space and start trying to bridge that gap between the NPL and the A-League sides is something that I’m really excited about.

“I’ll still obviously work with the first team next year, and bring them both together to develop young players and give them those first team opportunities which is what we need”.

Another important addition to the Football Department is Luca Tonetti, who has accepted the position of Strength & Conditioning Coach moving forward. Remaining with the club are goalkeeping coach Matt Nash, and physiotherapist David McGinness.

The club is also looking to employ the services of a specialist video analysist on a full-time basis, who will be on board before pre-season training commences.
