TALENTED custodian Mathew Ryan will depart Australia on Monday bound for the United Kingdom where he will spend ten days training with Rangers Football Club.

Ryan will miss one Hyundai A-League match for the yellow and navy while overseas, that being the round 16 showdown with Melbourne Victory at Aurora Stadium in Launceston on Saturday 12 January.

Ryan is expected to return to the Central Coast prior to the Club-s F3 Derby clash with Newcastle Jets at Bluetongue Stadium on Saturday 19 January.

β€œI was in Scotland over Christmas spoke with (Rangers Manager) Ally McCoist about Mathew Ryan,” Central Coast Mariners General Manager of Football, Lawrie McKinna said.

β€œIt is a credit to Mat and to our Club that Ally was well aware of Mat-s ability and potential and immediately offered for him to join Rangers for a training spell.”

“Mat is eager to take up the opportunity and we are sure he will learn a lot from the experience.”

Central Coast Mariners will update members, fans and media should any significant developments regarding this matter occur.
