Ninja A-League Women, Central Coast Mariners 4-1 Newcastle Jets

The Central Coast Mariners delivered a blockbuster F3 Derby performance on Sunday night, overcoming a rescheduled fixture to claim a commanding 4-1 victory over the Newcastle Jets at ‘Our Paradise’, Polytec Stadium.

Originally slated for Saturday afternoon, the match was pushed back due to extreme heat, but the delay only fuelled the Mariners’ fire. Both sides came out with intensity and it was Newcastle who struck first through Lauren Allan in the 22nd minute, putting the visitors ahead.

The Mariners responded just before the break, with Annalise Rasmussen finding the equaliser in the 42nd minute to bring the home crowd to life. Building on that momentum, she struck again in the 70th minute, giving the Mariners a deserved lead.

From there, the Central Coast women were relentless. Tamar Levin added a third in the 77th minute, capping off a superb team move, before debutant Eliza Familton sealed the night with a memorable goal less than ten minutes later – a dream start to her Mariners career and the final blow in a dominant derby display.

The emphatic win not only delivers bragging rights in the F3 Derby but also injects vital confidence into the Mariners camp as they turn their focus to a tough away trip to face the Western Sydney Wanderers this Sunday.Sunday 7 December – Polytec Stadium
