Central Coast Mariners wish to alert its members, fans and media that goalkeeper Justin Pasfield will not be re-signed by the Club for season ten of the Hyundai A-League.

Pasfield linked with the yellow and navy on an initial two-season contract in 2011, and extended his stay with the Club for a further year in February 2013.

The former North Queensland Fury player made 14 competitive appearances for the Mariners during his time with the Club, and proved to be a dependable deputy for shot-stoppers Mathew Ryan and Liam Reddy during his spell with the men from Gosford-s idyllic bayside arena.

Pasfield, who also featured for the Club against Scottish heavyweights Glasgow Celtic in July 2011, will be remembered as a respected and popular member of the Club-s squad, and will continue to train with the first team until Phil Moss-s men break for annual leave later this month.

Pasfield contributed to the Club-s 2013 Hyundai A-League Championship triumph, and 2012 Hyundai A-League Premiership success. He was part of three AFC Champions League campaigns with the Mariners.

Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Moss praised Pasfield for his professionalism and commitment to the Club during his three-season stay.

“Justin has been a top professional and person during his time with the Mariners and took our decision yesterday (Wednesday) like the professional he is,” Moss said. “We will continue to work with Justin until the football department breaks for annual leave later this month.”

“We wish Justin the very best of luck in his future career,” Moss said.

Central Coast Mariners Chief Executive Officer, Mr Bruce Stalder, added: “Justin has a fantastic personality and is very popular with our fans and in the community. He is a very decent man on every level and everyone involved with the Mariners certainly wishes him well with his next Club.”

Central Coast Mariners will announce which player will join Liam Reddy in the Club-s goalkeeping ranks for the 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season over the coming weeks.
