Sue Roach’s support helped us crush the 2,000 Member mark as we aim for 5,000 Members for next Hyundai A-League season.
Central Coast Mariners are targeting 5,000 Members for the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League season, and after a busy period of renewals and fans signing up over the past two weeks, the Club is currently over 50 per cent of the way to its Member goal.
The 2,000th person to join as a Mariners Member for our Championship defence was long-time fan Sue Roach.
Sue is a passionate Mariners supporter who enjoys matches at Bluetongue Stadium alongside her son and daughter.
While for large parts of home games Sue is based behind the team bench in Bay 7 (the perfect place to make sure her support is heard by the players and coaches!), she also enjoys venturing to Bay 16 towards the end of matches to join likeminded fans in singing for the team.
Sue says that besides saving money, she loves being a Mariners Member because of the amazing atmosphere at Bluetongue Stadium when the boys win, and the chance she gets to mingle with the players at Member only post-match functions.
Sue has had many favourite players since the Club commenced life in the Hyundai A-League in 2005. In the early years, Damien Brown won a place in her heart; while Danny Vukovic, Andrew Redmayne and Mathew Ryan – some of the Club-s top custodians – are also personal favourites.
These days, Sue loves watching Joshua Rose storm down the left side, and looks forward to seeing how Mitchell Duke – a player she says reminds her of Mile Jedinak when he first signed for the Club – progresses as a footballer.
Like many fans, Sue-s highlight of the 2012/13 season was the Club-s Hyundai A-League Grand Final win!
After travelling to Sydney on the Yellow Army bus, Sue joined fellow supporters in the march to the ground and inside the stadium, helping create some fantastic support for the team!
