Central Coast Mariners face another short away trip on Sunday, taking on Sydney FC at Leichhardt Oval.
The Mariners were winners on the road last Sunday, with goals from Brooke Nunn, Tess Quilligan and Bianca Galic giving us a deserved three points against bottom of the table Western Sydney Wanderers.
Sydney come into this game after an unprecedented poor start to the season for their standards. As we tick over the midway point of the campaign, the Sky Blues sit second bottom with just one win to their name.
This provides a great opportunity for the Mariners to continue to build momentum, but they will have to still be weary of Sydney’s individual quality.
Ante Juric will be hoping that quality comes to the fore sooner rather than later, if Sydney are to continue their ever present record in the Ninja A-League’s finals series.

The Mariners ran out 3-1 winners on the opening day of the Ninja A-League season, with goals from Jade Pennock, Izzy Gomez and Galic.
Last season, Sydney and the Mariners met four times including a tight semi-final which Sydney edged over two legs.
This is Husband’s third trip to Leichhardt Oval with the Mariners, with two wins under our belt here last season, including a special midweek trip last January.
