The Central Coast Mariners- Westfield W-League side travels to South Australia this Saturday knowing that a season defining tie awaits them at Hindmarsh Stadium against Adelaide United.

After consecutive losses to the Queensland Roar, Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets, the Mariners are in desperate need of three points to keep alive their chances of a top four finish.

The Mariners- opponents on Saturday, Adelaide United, currently occupy sixth spot on the Wesfield W-League ladder, one point clear of the seventh placed Mariners, which sets the scene for a fascinating encounter between two sides hoping to kick start their respective campaigns.

Mariners midfielder Karina Roweth was happy with the Mariners- performance in the ‘F3 derby- last round, though cited concentration lapses as the yellow and navy-s undoing.

“We played well for large spells, though we didn-t get the win which is really disappointing,” said Roweth.

“In the moments where we have dominated, we have conceded goals, which is something we really need to work on.”

The Mariners- Westfield W-League campaign continues on Saturday, 6 December against Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium. Kick off is at 4pm AEDT.
