Graham Arnold-s team have already played against Ricki Herbert-s side twice this campaign. Both games were in New Zealand at Wellington-s Westpac Stadium, with the yellow and navy claiming a 1-0 win across the Tasman Sea in round 6, before the two teams settled for a 1-1 draw at the ‘Cake Tin- in round 12.
On Friday, the Mariners played Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium, securing a 2-2 draw with Mike Mulvey-s men. Goals to midfield whiz Michael McGlinchey and the competition-s top marksman, Daniel McBreen, helped Central Coast claim a valuable point away from home.
Meanwhile, Phoenix clinched their first win in six matches when they defeated Perth Glory 1-0 at Eden Park, Auckland on Saturday; Jeremy Brockie-s first half header enough to move to the team from the Kiwi capital off the foot of the Hyundai A-League ladder.
Central Coast will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run at Gosford-s Bluetongue Stadium to nine matches when they play the ‘Nix on Thursday, and in so doing keep their undefeated run in 2013 alive.
