Mariners Academy back in action with new coaches at the helm

The Central Coast Mariners men’s and boy’s academy continue their season today, with new first grade coach Abbas Saad taking charge of his first game.

Our boy’s sides will play host to Sydney United 58 at Pluim Park throughout the day, with our NPL sides kicking off against Blacktown City from 3pm.

First grade vs Blacktown City

Following last weekend’s heartbreaking draw against Sutherland, with our opponents scoring their equaliser in the final minutes, the Mariners NPL first grade side will be looking for their first win of the season this weekend.

The team come up against competition heavyweights Blacktown City, who currently sit in eighth after three games played with a solitary win.

The Mariners currently in thirteenth, looking to progress up the competition ladder.

Abbas Saad will take charge of his first game for the club when the side kicks-off at 5pm tonight, with our new coach looking to hit the ground running with a positive result.

Under 20’s vs Blacktown City

After picking up three points last weekend against a resilient Sutherland Sharks outfit, the Central Coast Mariners under 20’s men’s NPL side will look to continue their form against Blacktown City.

Currently sitting on two wins and a solitary loss, the Mariners sit in eighth place. Blacktown are three positions higher in fifth, equal on points with a superior goal difference.

The match will be Lucas Vilela’s first as permanent under 20’s coach, looking to get his tenure off to the best possible start today. Kick-off is scheduled for 3pm.

Boy’s Academy vs Sydney United 58

Starting bright and early this morning with the under 13’s clash, our Mariners Academy boys take on Sydney United 58 youth throughout Saturday.

The games will take place at Pluim Park, with all sides looking to pick up momentum after the first few rounds.

With next weekend’s fixtures being our first away trip of the season, each age group will be looking to pick up maximum points at home.

The under 16’s boys will also play again over the coming days with their rescheduled match against Sydney Olympic to take place at Pluim Park this Wednesday night at 7pm.
