Julia Gillard’s message to Mariners

AUSTRALIA’S Prime Minister Julia Gillard took time out of her busy schedule in China on Tuesday to wish the team well before their AFC Champions League Matchday 4 clash with Guizhou Renhe.

AUSTRALIA-S Prime Minister Julia Gillard took time out of her busy schedule in China on Tuesday to wish the team well before their AFC Champions League Matchday 4 clash with Guizhou Renhe in Guiyang.

Knowing Gillard was in China, Central Coast Mariners General Manager – Football, Lawrie McKinna, made an approach through Federal Member for Robertson, Deborah O-Neill, for Gillard to attend tonight-s game.

Unfortunately, due to her extensive commitments in China, Gillard could not attend the fixture.

However, the PM did kindly take the opportunity to call McKinna and leave a voice message expressing her support of the Hyundai A-League-s only Club representing Australia in this year-s version of Asia-s premier club competition.
