Congratulations Izzy, so well deserved! 💛#CCMFC #RideTheWave🌊 pic.twitter.com/6t9nHWZFcY
Izzy started the season in flying form as the Mariners finished November unbeaten, the 22-year-old playing every minute until she was forced off with a knee injury in Round Four against Melbourne Victory.
Already in the first four rounds, Gomez bettered her goal tally from last season with strikes in our opening day win over Sydney FC at Our Paradise, and a crucial equaliser to earn us a point against Melbourne City.

Her early season form was too good to ignore as she received her maiden senior international call-up, but unfortunately missed out on her debut due to a knee injury.
Gomez was picked for the PFA POTM over a strong list of nominees including fellow Mariner Jess Nash, who has also started this season in fine form, earning her second and third Matildas caps against Chinese Taipei recently.
Also among the nominees were Matilda and joint-Ninja A-League top scorer Emily Gielnik and Melbourne City newcomer Lourdes Bosch, as well as A-League legend Tameka Yallop and her 20-year-old Brisbane Roar teammate Alicia Woods.
Gomez came out on top though, receiving the highest number of votes from her peers to become the first winner of the award for the 2024/25 campaign.
