The Central Coast Mariners can unfortunately confirm that our Liberty A-League captain Taren King has suffered an ACL Injury, which will keep her on the sideline for an extended period of time.
The extent of the injury is yet to be determined, with further scans to confirm the exact severity.
King traded Newcastle for the Central Coast this season, joining the Mariners for our return to the Liberty A-League.
Awarded the captain’s armband at the beginning of the campaign, the defender has been an ever-present figure in the Liberty A-League this season. King scored our first goal back in the competition, the opener in our 2-1 victory in Adelaide in Round 2, featuring for us on 10 total occasions.
Everyone at the Central Coast Mariners wishes Taren the very best in her recovery and will be with her every step of the way on her journey back to the pitch. We look forward to seeing our captain back out on the field soon.
