Duke netted a delightful goal late in Australia-s 4-3 defeat to China at the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup to impress coach Holger Osieck.

Unfortunately, Australia-s 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup campaign was not as fruitful for defender Trent Sainsbury.

To the surprise of many, Osieck opted not to deploy Sainsbury throughout the tournament, despite Australia-s backline underperforming for much of the competition. The Socceroos leaked seven goals in three matches throughout the 2013 EAFF East Asian Cup finals.

Club Brugge got their Belgian Pro League season off to a top start on Saturday morning (AEST), with Mathew Ryan impressing in-between the sticks for Juan Carlos Garrido-s team.

Brugge won 2-0 over Charleroi, with Ryan impressing in his debut match infront of 25,000 fans at the Jan Breydelstadion.

Elsewhere abroad, former Mariner Oliver Bozanic has continued his hot form in the Swiss Super League with new club FC Luzern.

Bozanic scored a double in Luzern-s 3-2 home win over FC Zurich overnight to take his goal tally for the men from the Swissporarena to four in three matches.

Tomas Rogic didn-t play at Glasgow Celtic FC were beaten 2-1 in a friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend. However, Rogic may well be included in midweek, as the Hoops host Sweden-s Elfsborg in UEFA Champions League qualifying in Scotland.

Alex Wilkinson-s Jeonbuk Hyundai play away to Daegu in K-League Classic Wednesday. A win will consolidate Jeonbuk-s position in third place in the Korean top flight.

The Chinese Super League resumes this week, with on-loan Mariners striker Daniel McBreen and former Central Coast attacker Bernie Ibini challenging Dalian Aerbin with their Shanghai SIPG teammates on Wednesday.

Rostyn Griffith-s Guangzhou R&F side are away to Shandong Luneng on Thursday 1 August.

Mile Jedinak played 62 minutes in a 3-0 pre-season defeat to Crawley Town at the weekend. Jedinak-s Palace opens their 2013/14 Barclays Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park on Sunday 18 August.

Mustafa Amini was not involved in Borussia Dortmund-s 4-2 German Supercup triumph over Bayern Munich at the weekend. BVB are away to Augsburg in round 1 of the Bundesliga on Saturday 10 August.
