CENTRAL Coast Mariners attacking ace Patrick Dixon says the junior yellow and navy are well prepared for tomorrow-s National Youth League decider with Melbourne Victory Youth at Bluetongue Stadium. Kick-off is 4:45pm.

John McLafferty-s boys must win the Round 18 encounter to claim back-to-back titles, while the visitors can afford to draw with the junior yellow and navy to secure the Champions- trophy courtesy of their superior goal difference.

“We are all handling it well, we are really up for it and I am really looking forward to it,” Dixon said. “We know what is up for grabs and we-re ready for it.”

The visiting Victory will be looking to return to winning ways after suffering a shock 4-3 defeat to Western Sydney Wanderers Youth last Sunday, while goals from Dixon, Kieren Paull and a brace to Adam Jenner ensured the junior Mariners claimed a 4-0 win over Sydney FC Youth last weekend.

“It was good to get the win. I think we needed that bit of confidence especially heading into the game against Melbourne tomorrow. Personally, it was good to get on the score sheet. It-s just good, when the team is playing well and I think once someone gets a goal, everyone starts chipping in,” he said.

The hosts will be looking for revenge after suffering a heavy 8-1 defeat against Melbourne Victory Youth when the sides last met back in Round 12.

The promising attacker is expecting a tough contest with Darren Davies- men and says his side must be on their toes if they are to get the desired result.

“They were really good last time we played them. I think the main thing for us is to be switched on for the first ten minutes, that is where they really got us last time and they picked up their momentum straight away. It is something we have addressed at training. We are looking to capitalise on our chances a lot more and hopefully it will go from there,” he said.

Dixon says he hopes to see plenty of Central Coast fans heading to Bluetongue Stadium early tomorrow afternoon ahead of the Mariners- Round 22 Hyundai A-League clash with Ange Postecoglou-s men.

“If the weather holds out and we get to play before the A-League match at Bluetongue Stadium it would be awesome. It would be great to have a lot more support and it would create a bit of a buzz,” he concluded.
