Storm Roux, Michael McGlinchey, Mat Ryan, Mile Jedinak, Alex Wilkinson, Oliver Bozanic and Tom Rogic were all involved in international action on Wednesday.

No less than seven current or former Central Coast Mariners players took part in international friendly action over the past 24 hours.

Mariners right back Storm Roux played 67 minutes for New Zealand in Tokyo on Wednesday night as the All Whites lost 4-2 to the Samurai Blue infront of 47,000 vociferous fans.

Up against a seriously talented Japanese outfit, Roux and his Kiwi teammates struggled to cope with an early onslaught from the home side, and were down 4-0 early in the game.

Nevertheless, New Zealand showed some fighting spirit, with two goals from Chris Wood helping the men from the land of the long white cloud to record an honourable result.

On loan Central Coast Mariners player Michael McGlinchey (Vegalta Sendai) played 58 minutes in the clash before being subbed out of the game.

Meanwhile five former Mariners took to the field for the Socceroos in this morning-s 4-3 defeat to Ecuador in London.

Mathew Ryan, Mile Jedinak and Tom Rogic started the encounter, before Oliver Bozanic and Alex Wilkinson were introduced in the second half.

The Socceroos led 3-0 at the break via a double to Tim Cahill and a penalty to Mile Jedinak, but a second half fight back by Ecuador combined with some erroneous play from Australia saw ‘La Tri- secure the win in time added on.

Jedinak captained the Socceroos for the first time in the clash at ‘The Den-.
