Brent Griffiths extends Mariners stay

VERSATILE defender Brent Griffiths will remain with the Mariners for another campaign after today signing a one-season extension with the Club.

VERSATILE defender Brent Griffiths will remain with the Mariners for another campaign after today signing a one-season extension with the Club.

The 23-year-old was called upon five times throughout the Club-s 2012/13 Hyundai A-League season, and was also deployed in the 2013 AFC Champions League Group Stage.

With veteran left stopper Patrick Zwaanswijk retiring from professional football in order to take up a coaching role with the Club, Griffiths will be looking to stake his claim for a regular starting place in the team next term when the Mariners reconvene for pre-season training in July.

Brent Griffiths is the younger brother of former Mariner Rostyn Griffiths, who now plies his trade in China with Guangzhou R&F.

The only way to guarantee your seat at each 2013/14 season match is via a Mariners Membership! Get on board today! Click here to sign up now or call our Membership team on 4353 7200.
