WHILE the Mariners were grinding out a determined 2-2 draw against Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, a prestigious award ceremony was in full swing on the Central Coast.

Mingara Recreation Club was the location for the 2012 Central Coast Sports Federation Awards.

These awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Central Coast sporting community.

Central Coast Mariners featured prominently, with Head Coach Graham Arnold feted as Coach of the Year, while young goalkeeper Mathew Ryan came runner-up to London Olympian Tom Slingsby (sailing gold medalist) in the Sportsperson of the Year category.

Central Coast Mariners extends its congratulations to all the winners, nominees, administrators and volunteers who made the evening a success and the Central Coast a fantastic place to participate in sport.
