Academy Preview: Women’s and Girl’s (April 10th)

The Central Coast Mariners women’s and girl’s academies are back after missing last round due with washouts. They return with another away trip to Sydney, where all five sides will take on Marconi Stallions.

The day will get underway with three youth girl’s matches, beginning with the under 14’s kicking off at 8:20am. The women’s teams then play at 1:05pm and 3pm at Wanderers Football Park, aiming to continue their positive seasons to date.

First grade vs Marconi Stallions

The Central Coast Mariners women’s academy first grade side are looking to collect their fourth straight win on Monday, taking on Marconi Stallions at Wanderers Football Park.

Having missed last weekend due to wet weather the side are keen to get back in action, still riding high after a dominant 2-0 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers a fortnight ago.

Despite playing less games than almost every team in the competition the Mariners still sit in second, the only team currently with a perfect win percentage.

Their opponents Marconi have had an average start to the season, sitting in seventh place on five points after four rounds.

The side are undefeated since a round one loss to Blacktown City, coming from behind last weekend to draw with Nepean FC.

The match will be the final fixture of the day, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm.

Under 20’s vs Marconi Stallions

It has been a stop-start beginning to the season for the Mariners under 20’s side, having only played two of the four scheduled matches to date.

Last weekend’s rainout and a postponed game due to heat see them sitting with one win and one loss so far this campaign.

Their most recent fixture was a strong 4-0 win over Mt Druitt Town, dominating from start to finish in a one-sided match. Currently sitting in 10th, that position in no way represents where the side is at for the 2023 season.

Our opponents, Marconi, have had a difficult beginning to their 2023 season, sitting in 11th after four matches.

Their only win coming against 13th place South East Phoenix, losing their last game against Nepean 4-0. The match will kick off at 1:05pm at Wanderers Football Park.

Youth Girl’s vs Marconi Stallions

After missing last weekend’s matches, the Mariners youth girl’s return on Monday, aiming to secure some important results against Marconi Stallions at Wanderers Football Park.

The day will begin with the under 14’s, who are aiming to continue their winning form that saw them comfortably handle Mt Druitt Town 4-1.

Both sides have secured one win from three matches and are looking to climb the ladder, with a close contest expected when they begin at 8:20am.

The under 15’s will be looking to continue their perfect start to the season, sitting with three wins from three matches to date.

Their last match saw a dominant 6-0 win, while Marconi are yet to secure a victory. A draw against South East Phoenix their only point, currently sitting in 12th place. That game will get underway at 9:55am.

Our under 16’s will conclude the day for the youth girl’s, who also remain perfect up to this point. In similar circumstances to the under 20’s, the side has played only two matches, missing one due to the wet weather and one on account of the heat.

2-0 and 3-0 win’s so far see them sit in sixth place. Marconi have struggled in the under 16’s so far, picking up their only point with a 2-all draw against SD Raiders last weekend. The match will kick off at 11:25am.
