21. Ahmad Elrich
Elrich’s introduction to the Mariners’ line up from Hyundai A-League rivals the Wellington Phoenix was one of the Central Coast’s significant off-season coups ahead of season four. Capped by his country 17 times prior to joining the Mariners, Elrich has also netted five goals in green and gold. Furthermore, Elrich is one of Australia’s most celebrated youth internationals, having played an integral role in Australia’s participation at the 2001 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Argentina and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Elrich was first introduced to Australia’s football punditry in October 2002 as an 18-year-old at former National Soccer League club the Parramatta Power. Following the demise of the NSL, Elrich became the first Australian to sign a contract in South Korea’s K-League and before a move to English Premier League club Fulham in time for their 2005/06 campaign.
